OUR PARTNERS

Located in Nashville, Tennessee, Meharry Medical College is one of the nation’s oldest and largest historically black academic health science centers dedicated to educating physicians, dentists, researchers, and health policy experts.

Founded in 1876 as the Medical Department of Central Tennessee College, Meharry was the first medical school in the South for African Americans. It was chartered separately in 1915.

Today, Meharry includes a medical schooldental schoolgraduate school and applied computational sciences school; and is home to the Center for Health Policy at Meharry. The degrees include Doctor of Medicine (M.D.), Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.), Master of Science in Public Health (M.S.P.H.), Master of Science (M.S.), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees.

Our vision is that every individual and family has access to a seamless person-centric community system of care with unencumbered opportunities to reach and maintain optimal levels of health and well-being.
Our mission is to serve communities by delivering innovative sustainable solutions that connect, improve and transform how social and health care agencies together deliver holistic, person-centric care and services.
The HELP Center provides counseling, employment, training, and coaching to help you eliminate barriers and awaken your passion.

The mission of The HELP Center is to provide ex-offenders, offenders, and low income individuals support to restructure their lives and achieve success with counseling, educational, employment, and supportive services.

The HELP Center has grown to an expansive social services focused agency with an extensive array of supportive services, assisting hundred of men and women each year. In June 2021, we opened our second location in north Nashville.

Keeping with our founder’s vision, proximity is fundamental, and all our work – with our partners, our supporters and the people we service – is relationship based.

Amerigroup is focused on achieving health and wellness for the entire family. We listen, respect, and engage families to understand their culture, values, beliefs, and lifestyles so we can develop meaningful relationships. We engage and support members and their families to set goals based on what is important to them, building on their strengths and enhancing each person’s resiliency.

Family & Children’s Service (F&CS) serves people in crisis and transition by meeting them where they are, understanding their needs, and connecting them to the services and resources that can make a difference in their lives. F&CS often ‘fills in the gaps’ in social services, creating a safety net to ensure that all children and families can be safe and healthy. Each year we serve more than 40,000 clients.

We collect diapers and distribute them through our community partners. By being intermediaries, we limit duplication of services, reduce administration expenses and work collaboratively to solve a basic human need at the community level. If struggling families need diapers, they often have other needs as well, which are best addressed through our partner agencies and their full continuum of care. Nashville Diaper Connection is a growing community of support. We provide diapers to an average of 3,392 babies in need every month, which only meets 8.2% of diaper need for babies living in poverty. More and more families experience diaper need every day. We have made a small dent, but have miles to go in eradicating the diaper gap.
