Wellness, health care, environment, arts, and humanities, and lifelong learning (WHEAL) is a model of service that encourages even the most compromised mature adult to embrace whatever activity is available to promote independence, me, and a sense of purpose and meaning. To support and sustain family members Knowles Home Assisted Living offers expanded hours of operation, transportation services to and from the program, family support groups, individual counseling, and assistance locating, supportive eating, and monitoring to both our clients and their families via Home Care Partners.

Wellness (W)

One of the most important components that have come out in recent years is the development of a fitness program that engages the body, mind, spirit and kinship around an individual’s choice which adults know what is best to meet their physical means. Positive results can be achieved when there is a regular, long-term participation in a program, which provides a relaxed but intentional and motivating atmosphere. This program, “Adults in Motion” is based off of the “Seniors In Motion” that was developed at the University of North Texas. “Adults in Motion” is a supportive, interactive, health and fitness program, which offers an eclectic approach to fitness within a structured framework of a group setting. Realistic encouragement and reinforcement among peers are the wheels of action and the reward of maintaining strength, mobility and flexibility is a hallmark of true commitment.

Health-related Medical Services (H)

Knowles Home Assisted Living provides both on site physical care, a comprehensive range and holistic health services, improved assessment, case-management services and supportive service. Each individualized bathroom is large enough to allow both comfort and privacy, factors that are grossly lacking in most standard handicap facilities or individual residence. These bathrooms will also include equipment to assist in bathing and grooming clients (a self-directed means), a concept that is current adult health care facilities and programs. The last component of the wheel models is lifelong learning.
